Bournemouth Airport
Planning Prospects has been advising on a wide range of planning matters at Bournemouth Airport, supporting its ongoing operation and expansion, including the promotion and delivery of significant employment-led development.
Planning Prospects was retained following the acquisition of the Airport by Regional & City Airports (Rigby Group plc) in December 2017. Initially, this involved providing guidance on a variety of planning matters, including third-party development impacts, permitted development rights, lawful development, car parking provision, new premises for commercial partners, and enforcement issues affecting the Airport’s operations.
This role expanded to include representations to emerging Local Plans, covering issues such as safeguarding, site allocations, and the promotion of land within the Airport’s operational area for employment development. Planning Prospects played a leading role in securing positive outcomes for a series of planning applications.
These approvals will enable the delivery of up to 1.2 million sq ft of employment space, alongside a new link road, security facilities and supporting utilities infrastructure, helping to strengthen the Airport’s role as a key economic hub.
