The Tata steelworks in Stocksbridge, near Sheffield, sits alongside a large area of redundant, contaminated former industrial land. Following stalled proposals by Stocksbridge Regeneration Company Ltd, Planning Prospects was appointed to take forward and progress the application for a major retail and office-led development.

Deliverable planning permissions were secured, including through a successful appeal, enabling the scheme to move forward and open in Autumn 2016.

Planning Prospects continued to work with Stocksbridge Regeneration Company Ltd and Stonebridge Homes to secure further permissions across the wider site, supporting its comprehensive regeneration. This includes significant residential development in a riverside setting, as well as key infrastructure such as a new link road and junction with the Stocksbridge bypass, and additional employment uses including a stock handling warehouse and industrial test centre for Tata.
