University of Worcester
Planning Prospects provides ongoing planning advice to the University of Worcester, supporting its continued growth through the delivery of major campus, academic and student accommodation developments across the city.
Planning Prospects acts as planning consultant to the University, advising on a wide range of development projects throughout Worcester. As one of the fastest growing universities in the UK, the University plays a key role in the City Council’s ambitions to establish Worcester as a leading university and cathedral city.
Our work has included coordinating and securing planning permission for the Worcester Arena, a major sports and entertainment venue which opened in 2013 and is now well established within the city. We have also secured permission for University Park, originally proposed as a new campus alongside health, wellbeing and enterprise uses, and now evolving to deliver care facilities, a health centre, as well as new homes and employment opportunities.
In addition, Planning Prospects has delivered planning permissions for a number of academic buildings central to the University’s expansion, including the Riverside building, The Garage and Art House—sensitively redeveloping a listed building adjacent to the City Campus. More recently, permission has been secured for University Court, providing 1,500 student bed spaces alongside new academic facilities. Further projects continue to come forward as the University expands.
